The Chilliwack Safety Village Classroom Building in Farifield Island Park.

The Chilliwack Saftey Village is a complex run by volunteers which has been teaching fire safety, bicycle safety and stranger danger to Grade One and Grade Three students from Private and Public Schools for many years.  Partners include the City of Chilliwack, The Chilliwack School District,  The Chilliwack Fire Department, The Fraser Valley Brain Injury Association and local service clubs including the Kiwanis and Lions Clubs. The programs have been going now for so long that children who had attended the Safety village in Grade One are now coming back for work experience when in high school.   Three members of the Mount Cheam Lions Club sit on the Board of Directors and we built our Lend Lease Building on the property which houses our medical equipment which is lent to those in need in the community and our BBQ trailer. The Kiwanis Club has built a Home Hazard House at the back of the property which will be used to teach home safety once it is fully completed.
