LIONS CAMP HORIZON |

Camp Horizon is a 68 acre site located on the former Blaine Air Force Radar Station in Birch Bay. It is owned by the Whatcom County Parks and Recreation Department and managed by the Lions Camp Horizon Foundation. It is a project of Multiple District 19 District H, which is the District where Mount Cheam Lions reside. This District covers clubs in Washington State and British Columbia and the Camp accepts disabled citizens from both countries. The Camp is available for rent for most of the year, however during the month of July each year runs 4 one week camps for people with special needs over the age of 10 With no upper age limit. Our Club as well as the other clubs in Chilliwack sponsors several campers each year. All maintenance is done by volunteers and Lions from many clubs have put in thousands of hours in maintenance and helping out at summer camp. The Camp is fully staffed and has a full program including bowling, a carnival, talent show, dances, arts and crafts, competitive events, an animal farm and nature activities. It has 4 dorms for up to 200 people, a dining hall seating 150, 5 meeting rooms, a gym, a recreation hall, 2 lane bowling alley, picnic area, horseshoe pits, children's play area, campfire circle, outdoor basketball court and a walking trail.
