The Mount Cheam Lions Club, as well as the other 3 Lions Clubs in Chilliwack, assist people who can not afford hearing aids to obtain them through the Lions of B.C. Hearing Conservation Society www.lionsofbchearingsociety.org/ . The procedure starts through the local Lions Club which assesses the need and sends in the necessary forms. Once approval is received a local Hearing Aid provider will do the required testing and fitting of the hearing aids. The aids are refurbished hearing aids which are collected and used to help people in our area and also sent overseas to help people with hearing difficulties in other parts of the world. The local Lions Club pays half of the cost and the Hearing Society pays half. All Lions Club contribute to the Hearing Society and Lions sit on the Board of Directors. You will see collection boxes in the offices of Hearing Providers and we would ask if you could donate your old hearing aids when you receive a new one, so that all may hear. Thank you for your support.
If you are a low income senior and need help with your hearing please contact us at email mtcheamlionsclub@gmail.com or leave a message on the Mount Cheam Lions Hall Phone at 604-792-3810 and someone will contact you.
